Description: When we identify something as "near mint," we have to be quite certain that the bold statement is, in fact, true. This set of 115 pieces of J. Pouyat Limoges serve and dishware IS near mint. As with many hand-painted antique porcelain dish patterns, there are small in-manufacture defects that do not alter the value or beauty of these stunning works of culinary art. The set has been identified as design POY32 and includes the following: Serveware- (1) gravy boat with attached saucer- (1) 7-1/2" x 10-1/2" serving bowl- (1) #8 small serving plate 7-3/4" x 11-1/2"- (1) #10 medium serving plate 9" x 13-3/4" - a tiny fleabite chip on inner black/gold border - see photo for visual detail- (1) #16 large serving plate 12-1/2" x 18-3/4"- (1) #18 extra large serving plate 13-1/2" x 20-1/2"- (1) lidded rectangular serve bowl 6-1/2" x 9-1/2" (not including handles)- (2) lidded square serve bowls 7-1/2" x 7-1/2" (not including handles) Dishware- (11) teacups - (12) saucers - (11) 3" ramekins/condiment dishes- (12) 5" fruit bowls- (12) 6" bread plates- (12) 7-1/4" soup bowls- (12) 7-1/2" salad plates- (10) 8-1/2" lunch plates - one has a small fleabite chip on its base - please see photo for visual detail- (11) 9-3/4" dinner plates PLEASE VIEW ALL PHOTOS CAREFULLY and FORWARD ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE BEFORE PURCHASING. The Manufacturer's Marks:Three stamps appear on the underside of the pieces. The first is the dark green "J.P." over "L" over a curved "FRANCE." This is the original mark of Jean Pouyat Limoges identifying is as made in Limoges, France. This mark was used between 1891 - 1932. The second stamp is a green wreath beribboned in pink with a pink bow. Inside the wreath is written "J. POUYAT Limoges." This mark was used between 1914 - 1932, narrowing down the date of manufacture of this specific set. The third mark is a green wreath around a large green "W." Beneath the wreath is a ribbon reading "Philadelphia," "Paris," and "New York" identifying the three locations of manufacture J. Pouyat Limoges had expanded into later in its life, further narrowing the date of manufacture, likely to between 1920s and 1932. There are other speculations about the "W" mark, but this is the most likely. If anyone has any additional information about the third mark, please let us know!
