Description: Hand pieced quilt block pieces. Someone started a quilt a long time ago. They hand pieced, with a long running stitch, 113 quarters of a block. The finished block would have a center circle, so each quarter has 1/4 of a circle. Each piece here is about 3-1/2 square, so a completed block would be about 6 square. Now, the pieces here are not precise. Some arent quite square, some dont want to lie totally flat. Some are badly stained and some even have the outer parts pieced together. They used all they had! It was going to be a true make-do quilt. I wonder why they stopped? Were they pieced by a young girl who lost her patience? Or someone who lost her ability or eyesight. or life? Well never know the answer to that this side of Heaven, but it seemed important to someone to save them and seemed important to me to rescue them. You WILL need to give them a wash. They dont smell very musty, but my lungs can tell they are full of dust. Ive breathed worse, but its definitely there.
