Description: 11” Ironwood Bald Eagle Sculpture – Intricate Hand Carved & Polished Raptor Predator Bird - Mexican Seri Indian Folk Art - Circa Mid-1900’s Excellent Condition – with one exception (see note below) The Bald Eagle perched on a tree stump and ready to fly. A Hand-Carved unique bald eagle art sculpture with intricately carved features in hard iron wood. This unique predator bird has glass eyes and a wing-span of 12”. Ironwood (palo fierro) found in the Sonora Desert is now a protected species of tree since the early 1990’s - which will eventually make sculptures from Mexican ironwood rare pieces. Note: The tip of the hook beak appears to be slightly damaged. But since the eagle is only glazed over the wood, there is no difference in the wood color on or under the beak.
