Description: This is an oddball item that came out of the estate of former Command Sergeant Major Donald E Walker (Retired) who was assigned to Fort Campbell, KY until his retirement in 1981. I have no idea about its origin, purpose or even the material it is made out of, except that it is a very unique and interesting large unit crest of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagle made in relief. It seems to be comprised of some kind of very hard plastic or other polycarbonate. Measures 11.5" x 8" x 1.5" (thickest point). It was obviously molded (some of the "flash" on the top edge can be seen) and then painted. The only identifying marks on it are a label on the backside that says "Leeds SO # 1481." Another odd feature of this is there is no mounting hardware on the backside (though this could easily be applied). This was one item among many in a large auction of CSM Walker's estate, some of which can be seen in a post at www.usmilitariaforum.com. Items shown on that website, as well as the post are not mine, but this item belonged to the same Command Sergeant Major Donald Walker whose lengthy and impressive biography appears on that site, too. FREE shipping in the USA! New Feedback Policy. For nearly 23 years my policy as a seller was to always leave positive feedback for a buyer when payment was received. However, after seeing an ever increasing number of buyers ignore the feedback process completely I am changing my policy. So now, if you want positive feedback as a buyer it will only be left after you have left feedback first at which time a positive feedback comment will be left for you. Feedback helps both of us and if a buyer refuses to participate then I will, too.
