Description: 1010X KEY BLANK Manufactured by Independent Lock Cofits Cadillac Ignition, Approx. 1926-1927. Fits: Model 314Key Code Series: "P" (stamped on ignition bezel). There is very little info on Cadillac keys from the 1920's, so do your own research when in doubt! The pictured Model 314 Cadillac ignitions have "SARGENT" over the key hole and a code starting with "P". These early Independent blanks are period correct and would be a good choice as they are very ornate looking. You can see the ignition and dash of the 1926 Model 314 in pictures #4-5. (car and ignition not included, obviously!) This blank was originally produced by Sargent locks, who now only make residential locks, but flirted with the automobile industry early on, making ignitions for Cadillac and others. Cadillac cars from around 1921-1925 used the Sargent 1010B key, from 1926-1927 they used the 1010X, and after early 1927 started using Briggs and Stratton (BASCO) keys. Check my other auctions as I will be putting up lots more interesting classic keys in the upcoming days! I am a collector who purchases vintage lots of keys. If you have anything special available, I would love to hear from you. Please ask questions and look closely at both front and back grooves on the pictured key prior to bid as I want you to be happy with your purchase. Thanks for looking and HAPPY MOTORING!
