This is a lovely book and oh! the smell takes you back to 1911 (not literally will need a tardis for that - lol, but if you could bottle the scent! Ask any book lover). Just makes you wonder how many people before you exclaimed when touching and smelling this book for the first time. Great to start a collection. Im not a book expert but can tell that to the right organisation, school, library, person this book will be treasured. It's amazing just thinking about how this book was produced without the use of the internet! The book is not in mint condition which adds to its charm. Please see photos. As I said Im not an expert but will describe the book as best I can: 100 Popular Pictures, 1911, height almost 15 inches and width almost 11 inches. The book has a dark blue cover with gold embossed like writing. The corners of the outer part of the book is a bit frayed, but this to me adds to the charm of the book. The third page of the book (the other side of the page with the lady in the blue dress (Mrs Siddons) and hand on the fur coat) looks as if a photo was there. Throughout the book there are numbers written in pencil eg. The lady in the the blue dress has the number 260 written on it. The photos for the following pages are missing: 8, 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 19, 24, 30, 32 & 39. There are slight 'tears' on a few pages- please see worst one in last photo. I could do an internet search to find the missing photos but am afraid to do so as may print and 'glue' them in and cause damage to the book. Please let me know if you have any queries. Weights just over 2kg. Priced to reflect missing photos and condition of book.
