Description: Ten wood shims, five thin, five thick. Real wood neck shims. We've seen cardboard, plastic, even cut up credit cards used as neck shims on beautiful vintage guitars! Stop using garbage for neck shims. Commercial neck shims are very expensive. We offer reasonably priced real wood neck shims. We have various assorted dark woods and light woods available. The auction is for 10 assorted wood neck shims, these are straight non-angled shims. These shims are made from assorted woods which can include, maple, mahogany, rosewood, koa, birch, spruce, cherry, etc. The thin shims are about 1/40-1/42" and the thick are about 1/16"-1/8". With this purchase the buyer will receive 10 assorted, 5 thick and 5 thin wood neck shims. They are approx. 2 1/4" by 3 1/8". They are intended for a electric guitar neck pockets. They are very thin, rough cut (not square) and not perfect. All thin shims layered together give a thickness of about 1/8". They will need to be trimmed and or neck holes drilled to fit your project. If you need a thicker or graduated shim, they can be glued together, layered and or sanded for your needs. For example; if you cut one in half, glue that half to a full size shim, sand the middle edge, you now have a graduated shim to adjust neck angle. Or cut one or two in half and apply this to your neck pocket and you have your angle. However, these are not "ready to go, drop in" as with other "commercial" wood neck shims, but they are much less expensive. We find them very useful for custom neck projects and repairs.
