Description: You will receive 10 seeds, like those pictured in the first photo, from the seedpods of our Moringa Oleifera tree growing in sunny Florida. Home grown naturally using regenerative methods with lots of love and zero chemicals, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. You will fresh receive viable seeds, from our most recently harvested seedpods, that are ready to sow. Growing Info & TipsMoringa Oleifera is a versatile, fast-growing tree that does well in subtropical locations, Zones 9 &10. It can be grown as a tree or pruned as a smaller shrub. It is a fast grower, easily adapts to poor soil and once established is very low maintenance (asides from pruning to mange its size as desired). It has a long taproot and smaller feeder roots, thus once established, does not require much, if any, watering. From seed the Moringa tree can take up to 8 months to fully mature. It thrives in full sun and warm weather! For Sowing the Seeds: Seeds need the temperature to be in the 70-90 degree range to germinate. Sow the seeds 1 inch deep in pre-moistened potting mix in a small pot, or directly in the ground. Keep moist. Seeds can take 5-15 days to germinate so be patient. Soaking the seeds for 24 hours before sowing can speed up & increase germination success, and I do recommend doing so! Moringa forms a long tap root so be careful not to damage it when repotting. Moringa Tree Uses + Taste and Preparation:Moringa is considered a superfood and best of all most all of it is usable in some way.I absolutely love this tree and enjoy eating the leaves, flowers, and drumsticks regularly. The Leaves: Eaten raw, the leaves have a little bite to them kind of like radicchio or watercress. When cooked, they taste more like spinach with a somewhat nutty flavor. It’s delicious in salads, smoothies, soups, as a side dish, made into a pesto or as a tea. The leaves are also great for the garden to add to your compost, for chop and drop mulching, or for feed for chickens etc.The flowers are also edible and go well in teas, stir fries, curries and stews as they take on the flavor of the dish. The drumsticks are also edible when they are young green, and are yummy cooked up like green beans or added to dishes etc. The seeds can be used to make oil and purify water. Moringa just has so many beneficial uses! Please do your own research before consuming. Shipping of Seeds: I ship these seeds via the Postal Service, USPS, Ground Advantage with tracking.
