Many examples of scissors of this style have been found an archeological sites connected with the 18th and early 19th century. An illustration of a near identical pair is featured in "Smith's Key" - a saleman's book of cutlery dated 1816.This pair of scissors is 10 inches in overall length with symmetrical polished blades. Finger loops are 1 inch wide by 1-1/8 inch long. There are no modern markings.
