These cap have 3 small protrusions at the top which prevent sealing and allow air flow into the tube (see picture). This air flow is sufficient for growing small (~3 ml) aerobic cultures such as E.coli, yeast and more. Caps were manufactured by Bellco. The tubes are 16 mm in diameter and consist of temperature-resistant, borosilicate glass. Both caps and tubes are autoclaveable.
