Description: 1 Dozen (12) Vintage Scranton Lace Co. 12" Round Cotton Lace Doilies Ivory NOS! This listing is for twelve (12), vintage ivory-colored Scranton Lace Company doilies. Made in the US, the ‘Chelsea’ pattern is representative of the quality Nottingham Lace produced by the Scranton Lace Company for over 100 years. Featuring 100% cotton, these 12” diameter round doilies are new old stock and come in a factory master carton. New in the package, these vintage lace doilies are in very good, unused condition. American made in Scranton, Pennsylvania, these vintage lace doilies are wrinkle-free and machine washable in cold water. Available in ivory, the lace doily is perfect for wedding décor or for use as a charger with formal place settings. Please note that some packs of doilies appear more oblong than round which may be from packaging. A beautiful clean vintage American made lace table covering perfect for any and all occasions! These vintage lace doilies were woven on the original Victorian looms of the Scranton Lace Company located in Scranton Pennsylvania. Established in 1897, the Scranton Lace Company was internationally known for producing the highest quality Nottingham Lace. Twelve massive Jacquard looms were imported from Birmingham, England in the late 1800’s and the factory in Scranton Pennsylvania was built around the 20-ton machines. Employing upwards of 1200 people at its prime, Scranton Lace ceased production in 2002. If you have watched the show “The Office”, the opening scene features the clocktower from the Scranton Lace factory. In addition to Nottingham lace, the company also produced napkins, tablecloths, valances, and curtains along with other lace items. I purchased these and other lace table coverings and doilies at an auction of over 10,000 pieces of Scranton Lace items. These were some of the last pieces produced at the factory before it closed over 20 years ago as well as old inventory. I have carefully inspected each package and will only send you items in pristine, like new condition.
